Oktoberfest dates all the way back to the early 1800s and is a fun way to celebrate German culture as well as enjoy traditions that have been passed down over the centuries.

💡 Fun Fact

Oktoberfest began in 1810 as a wedding celebration for Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavaria and Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen.

‍

At Emrick Lake, we love to take the opportunity to join in on the festivities and dedicate one of our lovely September weekends to the Oktoberfest theme. This year, we had plenty of activities and events planned so there was a little something for everyone who joined us for the weekend.

The Twisted Pine at Emrick Lake

The Twisted Pine Bar & Grill broke out all kinds of Oktoberfest classics and had our guests coming back for seconds. Some of the fan favorites included:

  • Kielbasa sauerkraut soup
  • Beer cheese soup
  • Fried fish
  • Beer-braised bratwurst
  • Kraut balls
  • Fried pickle spears
  • German potato salad
  • Pretzel bites

‍
We didn’t forget dessert either! Our amazing team of cooks whipped up German chocolate cake and apple strudel cheesecake bars. The food was so good that we kept the Twisted Pine Bar & Grill open until midnight so all of our guests could get a taste!

High Point Camp Store

If all those delicious foods made you thirsty, the High Point Camp Store had beverages to please. For the kids, we offered a blue raspberry and cherry limeade slushy, and the German Apple Fun Sundae (apples and ice cream topped in drizzled caramel). Coffee lovers were also treated to the Apple Strudel Latte, and the Wiesen Brew Latte, served hot and cold respectively, so no matter what your day held, you got your caffeine hit, Oktoberfest style.

Biergarten Near the Pool

What better way to wrap up the summer than spending the afternoon by the pool, enjoying authentic German food and beer. With games like the Wurst Toss and competitions like the Masskrugstemmen, there was something for everyone at Emrick Lake at Oktoberfest 2026.
